Nice to the touch...

My snow puppy princess girl...

I don't smell any treats mum!

On strike til the treats arrive

The coat is just a little too big, but I think it might be perfect for miss Aby... so we'll see in a few weeks : )

Thank you so much Patti! This blanket is soo beautiful!

Happy Birthday Pictures

So these are 2 weeks late, but still beautiful nonetheless : ) We're keeping birthdays pretty simple this year, but I wanted to make a homemade cake. So I made Nick a 2-tiered chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and decorative icing. It was delicious. I made one little cake for us on his birthday and a full size one for life group on the Sunday after his birthday.
We also had a homemade shrimp alfredo sauce over spinach linguine which was hands down better than the Olive Garden if i do say so myself.

We finished off the icing tonight on top of some newman's chocolate cookies and mile : ) Tink was a little miffed that she didn't get any pork chops with dinner(even though she had some bacon this morning with breakfast!) and she licked out the little container, pushing it all around the dining room with great delight : )

All she needs is a cherry on top...

Yes, that is whipped cream she is wearing.... the end of the can got a little crazy... Tink was just disappointed that she couldn't reach her back to lick it off : )

Let me get that off the floor for you, mom!

Yum yum....

Yummy marrow bone goodness...

she eats the marrow filling and then chews on the bone for the next several days, especially when she is excited (ie: when I come home : )

Guess who has a new puppy...???

She's a cute lil red BT named Penny.... what do you think?????......

Now before any one has a heart attack, she's not OURS, she's my brother's and sister's-in-law. But she is Tinker's first, first cousin! Be sure to watch for MANY pictures of the trio when we go up to MA in March, Tinker, Aby, and Penny! It's going to be crazy fun!

9:30pm

9:30pm every night for the last 3-4 weeks Tink decides she needs a drink. She can be in a deep sleep or just lounging around, but she sits up and just waits for us to put her on the floor. She gets a drink and then goes right back to sleeping. How the heck does she know the time? We were playing a game at the table tonight and she sat up from her sleep on the couch and just waited. And she will wait for a long time! I don't even need to check the clock any more, I know its 9:30. My crazy time telling girl!

Timothy & Cassie

So my brother made a valid point in one of our conversations recently: He said that I don't post about the dogs that I help find homes for with NEBTR so he doesn't know about them. So here they are.

Timothy is a young dog from a Lancaster puppy mill. He is about 11 pounds now. He was recently neutered and had his teeth cleaned and some rotten ones pulled. He's a nice little guy who gets along well with other dogs but would do fine alone as well as he likes to be top dog (but he will back down.) He loves his crate and goes in easily when asked. He tires easily but is generally a happy little boy who will cuddle on any piece of blanket or towel that he can get a hold of : ) He's learning how to play and is learning how to walk on a leash. He is not completely potty trained but is getting better every day! He's being fostered up in Rochester NY and is hoping for a forever family really soon!

I don't have a picture of Timothy but will post one when I get one.

The next few pictures are of sweet Cassie

Cassie is the other dog that I am currently helping by going through some applications and helping Tiffany out. She too is a Lancaster puppy mill dog and she is currently being fostered over in York PA. She is a sweet little girl who has some issues with men, but I believe with time could over come that with the right family. Her foster mom is looking for a woman or small family that has the time to give to this sweetie. Nick, Tink and I have had the privilege to meet her and spend time with her! She is a love and snuggled with Tink between Tiff and me on the couch. She is currently working on beating a bladder infection. As a result potty training is tough, but Tiffany reports that she is showing a LOT of improvement over the past few days. Cassie is scheduled to be spayed in late February.

So these are the dogs that I'm helping with right now. Several more mills dogs have come through in the past few days...there never seems to be an end. NEBTR helped 117 dogs last year. I hope fewer dogs need NEBTR this year. And now I am off to look at applications for these guys!

Tink's Vacation at Gram and Pap Rowe's

While Nick and I were in sunny Florida for Larry and Katie's wedding,
Tink was living it up with Gram and Pap in Maryland.

Tink slept in a heated water bed on comfy flannel sheets.
She also had a cookie before she went to bed and after she settled in upstairs!!

Tink traveled to Twyla's office each day (she couldn't stay at home of course!)

She worked hard all day...

...And helped spell check important emails

She also made sure the floor wasn't drafty

Yup, that sermon looks great Gram!

Of course she had the seat of honor at the board meeting!!

Tink went for lots of walks and was taken care of down to the tiniest details in her everyday life! Twyla and done did an excellent jo taking care of her and loving on her! Thank you so much for your love and attention to her!!!!

HAPPY GOTCHA DAY TINK!!!

HAPPY GOTCHA DAY TINKER!!!!

Can you believe it's been a whole 2 years since Tink came home with us?!?! CA-RAZY!!! What a great great 2 years it's been!!! She is doing FANTASTIC.

Last night she snuggled up as close as she could in the crook of my arm with her head on my shoulder and stayed there all night warm and comfy. Like she knew I needed her warm little body against me to help get rid of my head cold! She is my little snuggle bunny!

We have lots of pictures to catch up on--we will soon!

WE LOVE YOU TINKER !!!!

My little book rest. I received a reproduction copy of the 1926

obviously did not share my enthusiasm)

Cute baby Owen!

all snuggled up and warm--do not disturb!

Christmas afternoon we were over at Granny and Papa's house for another Christmas rendition.

Tink over looking the gift opening process

Taking a nap with Josiah

Tink received homemade gifts from us this year--- 2 new coats, a crate cover, liver treats and a clean bill of health from the vet (ok so that one wasn't homemade, but still.) She had received so many gifts from friends and we are soooo grateful. We will post pictures of Cheri and Brandy's generous Christmas gift soon!

We're currently getting ready for the last Christmas expedition with the entire Rowe family on new years day. Then Tink is having a 5 day sleep over with her Gram, Pap and Maddie while Nick and I travel to Florida for my brothers and Katie's wedding--it's coming so soon!

Tink's Annual Vet Visit

Tink had her annual visit on Thursday morning-- The vet said she looks great. He's impressed with her overall health and thinks her weight is perfect at 15 lbs : ) The vet techs eat her up while we're there too. "she's so cute...look at her!"

One annoying thing is that we still can't get rid of these worms--supposedly round AND hook. This is surprising everyone. We're doing 2 more rounds of panacur to see if we can kick these buggers. If that doesn't work we'll have to see what our other options are.

I asked Dr. Haver about a grade 1 heart murmur that another vet this summer had mentioned her having. (A surprise vet visit shall we say : ) He said yes she did have one but it's not a big deal and not something that he wants me to stress over in any way.

Tink's a healthy little girl. She's been acting GREAT, eating everything, she has lots of energy and she is loving 5 days of vacation that we're all on!! We'll post more pictures of our Christmas adventures soon!

A Little Confused

Tink took these pictures... she was wondering what the heck her daddy was doing in there...

But she figured if he was in there, she couldn't fit!

Surprise!

The Latest Sewing Adventure

Well, here is our newest sewing adventure: a crate cover for Tink. I've been talking about doing it for a long time and yesterday Nick and I stopped at Weaver's Dry Goods, a huge fabric place and found some nice jersey type fabric to work with. The plaid was perfect to use as it gave me easy and straight lines to follow. Hopefully this will keep the drafts out and not get lint all over her like that stupid blanket did that's been on her crate for awhile.

Needless to say, I really had no idea what I was doing and how much fabric I actually needed. I have about half of the 5 yards left and the plaid actually looks really good on Tink. I think it's safe to say some new plaid outfits will be in her (and Aby's) future. I might make a matching blanket for the crate, but with her peeing on stuff like she does, we'll have to see.

I am just so pleased that it actually worked!!! It would have taken only part of the afternoon instead of all of it, if my sewing machine and I didn't fight like cats and dogs so frequently. But we finished nonetheless in about 5 hours, fights and all. Don't expect any creations by Vicki on the market any time soon--this is certainly a one of a kind piece!

Tropical Treasure Zoe's Collection Collar

Tink's award winning Zoe's Collection collar came last week and we finally took pictures! I am totally hooked on these collars! They are so thin, yet just as durable as the more bulky collars you can buy.
up close-pink with cute green palm trees--c'mon summer!

sit pretty? I can do that!

Any treats yet?

No? ok, i'm leaving

This is my good side

Nah, this is my good side

Belated Thanksgiving Pictures

I totally forgot to post pictures from our Thanksgiving trip up to MA! Here is the menagerie. As you can see, it was a tough long weekend for the dogs : ) At least the horses had some exercise!!

Don't work too hard guys; don't worry about us!

Aby, our special girl!
