Dreamin' Dogs

I don't know if dogs dream or not, but Ori definitely made a case in favor of doggy dreams last night!  We've been working on Ori sleeping on her bed next to our bed instead of in a crate since Friday.  She's doing fabulous actually after our initial hesitation.  So last night she's sleeping on her bed and we hear her start barking.  Is wasn't her usual loud-mouthed variety,  but rather a more muffled, almost 3 Stooges kind of noise!  She was barking in her sleep!  This went on for a minute or so, then a pause and then more barking until she faded back into her snoring pattern.  Nick and I laughed so hard at Miss O and her yappy mouth!  We joked that she was dreaming about the ducks that have been around the apartments.  She so desperately wants to play with (or destuff) them lately!  She's even started tracking the ones in the sky hoping to get them up there!

I've been lobbying for another bed for the girls (ha, cause we don't have enough in this house right?) for a while now and just last night, Nick agreed that another bed makes sense.  We're hoping to move the crates to the middle room where the girls will stay when we're gone and then have 2 beds in the bedroom where they can both sleep at night.  Molly's been sleeping in a crate with the door open for a few days and seems to be doing pretty well with it. (We tried giving her the option to sleep in the bed next to our bed, but she's been fussy and has been choosing the crate over the bed.  I can't keep up with her!)  So now I get to figure out what kind of bed I think the girls will like.  You know how it's going to go though, both girls will want the new bed no matter what.  Ha!  My little kids, how I love you so!

Both girls had a marrow bone to chew on yesterday afternoon.  I haven't given them out in a long time because we've been dealing with Molly's fussy digestive system.  Since the switch to Dr. Harvey's food, Moo's been consistently consistent in a very positive way so we gave it a try.  Ori chewed on the bone for hours!!!  Molly enjoyed hers immensely as well and so far so good with everything else!  Ori chews her bone gated in the kitchen and Molly stays on a towel in the dining room so there aren't any issues.  Later in the evening the girls had fun stealing the bones from each other because obviously the other bone tastes way better than the one she has!

All in all a pretty wonderful weekend for the girls I'd say : )  Here's to a fabulous week of little rain and lots of walks, playing, and naps!

Where in the World is Tinker Bell?

She nearly gave me a heart attack last night as I was looking for her before bed time. I looked every where in the house and was trying to consider how she possible could have gotten outside of the apartment when Nick found her...

Can you find her in the above picture?

Yup, she totally decided to use my 1/2 unpacked bag as a comfy bed

After the initial relief of finding her, Nick & I laughed hysterically

She didn't want to get up either. Complete dead weight

Completely comfortable.
Finding her here made my whole evening last night!

Thoughts

So we won't have the results of the creatinine/cortisol test until early next week which leaves us waiting for a few days...

Tink had a very nice day yesterday. She was alert and very ready and willing to walk both in the morning and in the evening. We had some nice snuggle and treat time (and some teeth brushing thrown in for good measure.) Nick is really making sure that she gets LOTS of treats and as a result, we're gonna have to cut Tink's kibble just a hair... She is thoroughly enjoying the extra spoiling. Which reminds me, on our grocery shopping excursions this weekend, I'd like to pick up the necessary fixins' for some meatloaf for the little one.

Tink was slightly less active today than yesterday and didn't want to walk this evening. She walked ok this morning though. I want to make sure that when we walk, there is plenty of time for her to sniff and take our time enjoying being outside.

We realized a day or so ago, that in the middle of the night when Tink gets up and then doesn't settle in bed (resulting in a long night of walking up every 30 min or so) that she really needs to pee. So we've been getting up in the wee (ha, pun intended) hours of the morning to give her a potty break.

I also realized (apparently Nick has known for a while...) that the beautiful bed that I made Tink a while ago now, is not her favorite. She nests on all the other beds in the house and seeks them out (up to several times) after being placed on the bed in the back for the night. So last night we came up with the bright idea of putting one of her favorite nesting beds and on top of the other bed...wouldn't ya know! It combined the best of both worlds, softness AND a head rest. Heaven here on earth : ) We compared it to a pillow top mattress : ) She settled right down and slept until 4am this morning (as opposed to 12:30-1am.)

I want to keep these posts as upbeat yet as honest as possible. She's currently sleeping here right nex to me all warm and snuggly : ) We're watching one of Nick's favorites America's Funniest Videos. Unfortunately Tinker doesn't appreciate the humor quite the same way he does. We could hear him laughing all the way down the stairs on Tink's last potty break; we just shook our heads and smiled.

Ha, ok so now i'm just rambling about randomness... And we're soon off to sleepy time....here's to a fun filled weekend and some good news on the other side...

Iggy Pics

We've learned a few things about Iggy already (ok, a lot more than that, but still)

1- he loves to chew!!! the dining room looks like a bone graveyard. He's taken all the bones out of the bin and dumped them all over!
2- he loves to eat!!! dinner, cookies, cherios, they're all good
3- He loves scratches and rubs, particularly butt rubs
4-if he can get a scratch while chewing on a bone he has scored big time!
5- He really likes Nick!

Side view

Front view- Eyes a little cloudy but he certainly sees well

What?!? No treats yet?

Chewing on a hood on his new bed.
He didn't come with a bed and didn't lay on Tink's in the dining room from the time he got here. From the moment we brought this one in, he knew it was for him and laid on it right away!

Tinker has a new bed!

So long story short-- Tink killed her beautiful snuggle ball by constantly nesting on it for 2 years. Ripped the inside to shreds (not to mention pee-stinky!) I found some 5" foam on freecycle and made a new bed for her--- an orthopedic one nonetheless. Do you recognize the fabric? It's nothing fancy, but it certainly does the trick!

there's a pad under the cover that's water proof
so if she pees the foam is protected.

How the bed normally looks with all her blankets on it

some stink eye on the couch

I'll have to get some pics of her on the bed for a size comparison.
It's amazing how God provides the resources even for things like a new bed for Tinker!
