It's tough being Ori...

After a marrow bone for lunch, O's been sacked out on the couch sleeping her heart out!

Not time for another walk mom...

It's hard work being cute!

Are you done with the flashy thing?

 Pretty girl

Love this dog!!!

Sunday Morning Sleepies

We learned something new about Molly this weekend: she loves soft things!!  Our comforter ended up on the floor and rather than getting into bed like Moo usually does, she just laid on the pile of softness!

Isn't she cute?!?!

Meanwhile,  Ori was snuggled up in bed with me just like a little teddy bear.  Of course by the time we took pictures she was at the edge of the bed checking everything out

hey guys, what are we doing?!?!

Yeah, we have lots of quality snuggle time in this house!  Nick enables me to sleep in with the girls on occasion and I must say, I relish every moment, even if it means I'm almost late once in a while!

Yes, I put her on the table

Christina and Ben came over today and we spent a great portion of the day playing Settlers, baking, eating and of course carving pumpkins. It was a fabulous and relaxing day filled with good company and lots of laughs. Molly, of course, was fantastic herself and enjoyed a frozen marrow bone for almost 2 hours while we were our second game of settlers just after lunch. Before we started the pumpkin carnage, I decided I wanted some pictures of Molly with the pumpkins. They were already on the table, so why not?

Molly was clearly not comfortable being up on the table,
especially since she couldn't find anything to EAT while she was up there

Do I look like a pumpkin?

How do I get down Mom? It's too high to jump

If that's not a sad and pathetic face then I don't know what is.

I was hoping to pose her with the finished Jack-O-Lanterns, but as of 10pm this evening, I have not done so. I've realized that I need to work on her stay command in order for her to well, stay better for pictures! Tinker clearly spoiled me with her fabulous picture posing skills....Molly's will improve with practice I'm sure.

I had the wonderful opportunity to go back and see Nancy on Friday. She is one amazing person and a fabulous acupuncturist. While it was difficult to share about Tink's passing, she of all people understood what she meant to me and how she impacted my life. Nancy always seems to help me feel like a rockstar. It was a great treatment and visit and I left her office feeling more relaxed and "put together" than I have in over a month. I am still grieving but there is this quiet peace that has been given to me. I've been able to sit quietly and listen more to what is actually being said to me. Sigh, I love how intricately we've been created.

Thankfully, we were able to sleep in a bit this morning. When I woke up the first time Molly was in bed. The next time I woke up it was because she was pawing up and softly whining on my side of the bed, just like Tink used to do every morning for so many years. (I do confess, I don't wake up nearly as immediately to Molly moving as I did with my Tink.) Of course I told her to come up and she actually snuggled against me while I rubbed her belly for 15 min or so...She had her back against me as I rubbed her belly and patted her, just as I did with her sister for almost 4 years. It was a comforting and happy way to start my morning and helped to reiterate that there is hope of finding sincere happiness and love in the other dogs that are and will continue to be brought into my life.

Just as Tink found amazing friends all over the country, Molly is finding friends too. We have been so incredibly blessed with fantastic friends, both those we spend time with in person as well as those who we share our hearts and love of Bostons with. God continues to show us his faithfulness in so many ways and I am so grateful that one way He does this is through our friends. So thank you.

This is the way that Molly sleeps....

Moo likes to sleep with her nose covered. I found her on her bed a few nights ago and she looked so peaceful. Unfortunately her eyes seem to be demon-like in most pictures. She wasn't agitated, I assure you.

Perfectly content

Up Close

Sleepy...

I moved too close to the kitchen and this is who I found next to me.
Apparently the kong and bone weren't interesting enough

Molly has a vet appointment in the am to check out her ears and 2 bumps, 1 between her shoulder blades which is more nebulous and a little hard pea like bump on her right knee. Hopefully nothing major on either account. I'd still like to have them looked at, although the vet's office is the LAST place I want to go right now. (ok, maybe right behind going to my own dr's appt which i need to do as well....)

2 nights ago she jumped up into bed at 12:30 and stayed there the rest of the night. Neither Nick nor I were sleeping anyway and neither of us moved her...She wouldn't get out of bed to go pee that morning when I woke up early to go to work. Which just proves that if she doesn't have to go and she's comfy, she doesn't have to go!
This morning she jumped into bed at 7 and before I knew it, it was almost 8:30. She really had to pee at that point and she did jump right out of bed with a little whine to say "hurry up!"

Nick is currently attempting to teach her how to use the cookie ball... a great little girl but not the brightest crayon in the box. Let's just say I'm not sure she's ever going to consistently go to the door that leads to our apartment...

New Tink Pics 8-4-09

Nick took some pics of Tink sleeping over by the TV last week.... she's been lounging wherever quite contently it seems...

The eye is watching.

Beautiful Little One

So Content.

Dad, just cause I'm sleeping doesn't mean I don't know you're here!

Look at that squishy little face : )

my grandma, what a big nose you have....

Going back through Older Pics....

So I was going through our camera and thought it might be nice to down load some pics that have been sitting there! Here's Parker during a thunderstorm.....

High ground...must...get....to...higher....ground....

Stupid people....look at all this STUFF!

Sleep Fest Continues....

Tink slept on the comfy red chair while Nick and I played Rummy this afternoon after our dognutz adventure

Assume the position, snuggled up, head propped

oh yeah, that down filled pillow feels just right...

Tink is on the mend....

Tink slept all day yesterday and kept down 3 small servings of turkey broth yesterday. She slept through the night and woke up ready for the day a new and rejuvenated little girl. She appeared very hungry for some dinner at midnight (when we were on our way to bed) but she held off and did just fine holding down some turkey and rice this morning. She went for a small walk with me this morning and has been wandering the house looking for something to do : )

Here are some pictures I took of her sleeping all comfy cozy on the couch last night.

Sigh, I love this little one so much... continue to get well my darling one.

The Epitome of Relaxation....

I'm not gonna lie, Tink really has this week of relaxation down pat!

Don't worry Tink, I've got it for ya : )

If that smooshy little face isn't perfection, then I don't know what is!

The Queen....

...will always reign supreme in this house : )

While Parker may be treated very well here while he's rehabbing,
Tinker will still sleep in late and rule the roost!

Home, Sick....

So I've been home sick for the past 2 days....one day was nice, 2 days is a little much. But I felt worse this morning when I tried to get ready. So anyways, here we are. Tink has been a fabulous snuggler lately and I'm sure she is a major contributing factor to my better spirits and hopefully improved health very soon.

I've noticed that Tink has been rolling on her back some mornings which is a big deal for this little girl! It used to be a part of her morning routine and she stopped for a long while during the winter. She travels up the stairs and walks around the block when the weather is nice with little issue.

When we went to visit Lindsay and Jason last weekend we tried out a new travel crate with Tink while we went to church and then again while we went to the Voice of Hope concert. And after the second time in the crate, I noticed redness on the outside of her eye and on the top of her head. She had rubbed her skin raw from nesting and pacing and moving so much again the fabric of the crate...She looked like she had been beat up or something and I felt terrible. So of course we cleaned her bumps and such. I used a tea tree oil antiseptic cream on her (very carefully of course!) and wouldn't you know, within days everything has healed up nicely and she doesn't look like a train wreck!

For a while we've been very busy with home visits and such which was great as we were able to move a lot of dogs in one month's time. We seem to have slowed quite a bit, so send in your applications to adopt some of the fabulous dogs that we have available through NEBTR! I need more home visits to set up so these dogs can get moving!

Ok, it might be time for another nap now...

Where does the time go?

Here we are WEEKS after we were up in MA and I'm just posting about it now... well better late than never.

Nick, Tink and I spent an entire 9 days up with my family...it was a nice time to regroup, spend time with the family and relax. My parents recently got a new puppy... a little papillion named Jazz. He is certainly cute and adorable but he quickly reminded me of why I don't want a puppy when he pooped IN my slipper and chewed on my flip flips for starters...

Jazz is fearless and would retreat into his bed like it was safety
or something when playing with stretch or penny.

Tink did very well with puppy man.
We quickly broke him of the idea that Tink was his mother,
but we still had to watch him to make
sure he wouldn't chew on her head!

Chewing on a stick! Apparently most papillions don't like
to go outside this young, but he went outside like a trooper.
We even got him walking on a leash and
taking LONG walks in hopes of tiring him out.
That was faulty logic however as he would come back and play
for another hour or so before taking a break.

Almost resting, but not completely....

Here, let me help you out Tink, you have something on your nose!

Playing with razor sharp puppy teeth!

Jazz was about 2lbs when we first arrived...
when we went to the vet with him on thursday he was almost 3!!!

He is cute...

Planning his next attack

Who me?!?!

Tink was a giant at her 14.5lbs compared to this little munckin!

And as usual, all the dogs got along just fine! Tink made out like a bandit and slept in bed every night... one night, I'm not sure what happened if she pushed off me or my arm repositioned, but she fell out of bed and landed on the floor! She didn't think it was that funny but she was ok and I picked her back up and put her into bed again.

As usual Tink was very relieved to get back home as evidenced by her happy dance and face rubs as we came into the apartment : )
