Yesterday our life group went for a beautiful 3 mile fall walk and guess who came with us?!?!

The weather was just beautiful and it was so nice to be outside in the fresh air. Tink did great. We had a nice break at the half-way point and then we had a big meal with the crew when we got back. When we returned to our home Tink got a drink of water and went straight to bed. She chopped wood all night and woke up feeling refreshed : )

A much better day!

We sure made up for yesterday! lets recount:

• Tink and I slept in this morning all snuggly warm (after she spent the night again in bed with us)

• Tink did some errands with me which included a stop where she received lots of attention!

• Tink, Nick & I went to Petsmart where she got to help us pick out gifts for our WOOF! gift swapper! (where she was also mistaken for a baby Boxer and we were asked for some of her puppies when she had some---- thats wrong on so many levels, i can't even begin to get into that at the moment!)

• I stopped in at the dollar store to pick up some christmas containers and I picked up a new shirt for miss tink (we'll post pics soon!)

• When we got home we baked peamutt butter cookies and Tinker got to taste test of course! She also licked out the peanut butter jar (which was a riot by the way), licked out 2 cottage cheese bowls, and begged many liver treats off me today : )

• She also decided she wanted to snuggle with her daddy on the couch while her mum finished up a few things around the house.... Daddy enjoyed it thoroughly

So over all, she was filled with lots of food and lots of relaxing as she is now sleeping between my legs on the down comforter with a down throw over top of her.... life is good : )

It was a tough day....

We started this morning bright and early at the vets office tomorrow to have a few bb pellet sized tumors on her belly that have changed shape over the past few months. The vet was worried about the tumors at a few of them are mammory tumors. There's also a nebulus kind of tumor on her left leg which also needs to be removed... so she goes in for surgery on tuesday bright and early....

We had bloodwork done this morning (she was such a trooper) while we were at the vet to prepare for the operation next week AND to check for diabetes. I had been noticing how hungry she's been in the past month or so. She also had lost 2.5 lbs since we got her... the GOOD news is however she DOES NOT have diabetes or cushings or anything else... all her bloodwork came back great. I just don't understand where her weight is going... she looks good but always acts so hungry.. we're slowly upping her food intake to see if we can stabilize her hungry pains a little bit!


The vet also looked at her X-rays from the summer and looked at how arthritic her back was. He was very surprised and said that she might be in a lot of pain even though she doesn't act like it. Sigh, i'll get a better joint supplement and put flax seed in her food (and more food too!) and just take as good a care of her as we can. My poor girl. She's so happy and full of life though, she's getting the best she can now and I believe she's enjoying every minute of it.


Operations are expensive... we're just praying that the surgery goes quickly and it is on the low end of the estimate rather than the high end. I trust Dr. Haver very much and know he's working in her best interest, but this is all happening so quickly.

So thats the latest with our little one.... it was quite the day, but we made it up to her with a marrow bone and then we went to McKrackens and bought some chicken treats and a meaty knuckle for her later this weekend : )

NEBtRescue

I've decided to be a part of the North East Boston Terrier Rescue and to help out with house visits, transport and eventually fostering... although i am filling out the fostering application... so we shall see. I love the breed and feel a real passion to help in any way i can : ) The group seems really nice and well organized, it should be a lot of fun in the process. We're just at the very beginning but we'll update as we know more and do more with them : )

Fart-a-rama

so beautiful, but not so "sweet" tonight

I know the BT is known for their umm, flagulence, but Tink is particularly RUDE tonight! and guess where her behind is?!? uh huh, TOWARDS ME!!! The best part is, after she expels some of her nasty gas she lifts her head and sniffs like "what is that smell?!" She cracks me up!

A lazy friday night

Daddy has class tonight and mum still is just getting over some sinus nonsense, so that means plenty of relaxing on this rainy evening! Lots of belly rubs and treats! (oh ya, mum did manage to clip my front nails tonight...I'm looking pretty good if i do say so myself.) sigh, its a tough life but someone needs to live it!

Mum bought me something called a comfort zone thats SUPPOSED to help me relax a little more when she and daddy are gone... 'posed to remind me of when i was a pup with my birth mommy... so we'll see (hehe). she's also been giving me some of that nasty nature's remedy again which always makes me sneeze...I know she's just trying to help, but i can't help it if i miss her when she's gone....

Teeth brushin'

I think she has a tough life....

Tink has had the wonderful priviledge of entering the world of dental hygiene with good old teeth brushing! She does very well (particularly because there are liver treats given at random times : ) and only fights a little to get at the treats. She had a little bleeding at the beginning but after talking with the vet its possible that i was brushing on her gums instead of her teeth in the back... in any case i'm keeping an eye on it : ) We're getting some plaque of her front teeth and attempting to get rid of her at times, somewhat offensive breath : ) anyhoo, she's good as usual.

The weathers been nice so longer walks have been a priority and all 3 of us are enjoying it : ) There's something relaxing about a nice brisk walk twice a day : )

On the WOOF! board we have a gift exchange and Tink and I are excited to start buying for our giftee! Ok, time for Gilmore girls!

Apprently the vomit stinking hoof doesn't satisfy this hard core chewer! No, no no! she goes for the poor helpless pens and pencils that mom leaves on the floor! the pen & pencil are 2 separate incidents but are being documented for legal charges : )






Dang she's cute though!!!! I'm sure all charges will be dropped with a kiss and cuddle clause : )

Tink has taken to sleeping as close to me as possible in bed, this particular night she was sleeping between my legs (on the down comforter of course... her bedding of choice). She was just so cute and comfy looking, i couldn't resist snapping a few shots.












Another night, not too long ago she was in a dead sleep, so naturally, as inquisitive parents, Nick and I wondered just HOW deep a sleep she was in. So we placed 2 of her favorite treats in front of her nose, the home-made liver and her Zuke Hip action treats right in front of her nose... it took her about a minute, but man was she up!!! She ate them up and then she was all over the bed looking for more : ) oh the things we do to amuse ourselves : ) (the first pic only has the zuke; the second pic has the liver treat stacked on top--- i think it was the liver that woke her up : )

Mums been home sick since friday and lets just say that i'm enjoying every moment! Sleeping a long time in bed and on the down comforter!!!!!! mmmmm, i love the softness! Don't worry mum is feeling better, i wish she wasn't as much though, it means i need to be back in my crate tomorrow while she's at work.

Even though mum's not feeling well we did get to go for a few nice long walks when the weather is nice, mum says I did really well! and it was fun! ok, off for some dinner! (and if i'm lucky some more liver treats!
